Wizards of OZ is a mature Alliance guild on the Nagrand server. We are first and foremost a “no nonsense” social guild and enjoy casual raiding. Our motto is simple:  “Maximum Fun Minimal Drama”.

WOZ is home to more than 290 players (154 accounts) who come from diverse backgrounds but primarily from Australia.  Our members enjoy a friendly social atmosphere and value friendship, teamwork and hassle free gaming above all else.

Our leadership is made up of the Guild Master (Blackee), Assistant Guild Masters (Silverdrop & Legelis), Officers and Raid Leaders. 

Below is some information on the origins of Wizards of Oz, our raiding schedule and how you too can apply to become a member.

Origins of Wizards of Oz

Our story began in 2007 on US PVP server ‘Burning Blade”.  We chose the name Wizards of Oz because we thought the ‘Oz’ aspect would identify us as a primarily Australian guild.  It wasn’t long before we set about seeking like minded players to help us expand, to have fun and establish foundations in Azeroth.

Alliance on Burning Blade was severely outnumbered by the Horde and it was proving very difficult to complete quests due to the amount of PVP and ganking.  We did a little research and decided to move the guild to a PVE Oceanic server.  WOZ has now settled on Nagrand and continues to expand and grow.

Our Raiding Style

I guess on the scale of Casual to Hardcore raiding we would be a shade of grey, somewhere in the middle where we aim for our raids to be friendly and well organised.

Our raids are not compulsory and open to all our members. We run 10 & 25man raids and offer:

-           Raiding without heavy demands

-           Experienced and knowledgeable raid leaders

-           Fair loot distribution

-           A fun and friendly approach to raiding

Our official guild raids are held on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights from around 8:00pm – 11pm.  Ventrilo is a must and you can check out our raid progression listed on the right hand side of our website.

We have 3 categories of raiding, fun, casual and progression.  The majority of our members attend the fun & casual raids, however for the more serious raider who wants to attempt harder content, we offer a progression raid.

All our raids are well organised and coordinated via the in-game calendar. If members would like to participate in the raid they must have vent and:

-           Sign up via the in-game calendar

-           Have a strong sense of teamwork

-           Have a positive attitude

-           Be prepared with repairs, gear, enchants and consumables

-           Review boss guides and strategies

-           Are committed and dependable

-           Are prepared to wipe a few times while others learn

-           Have a good sense of humour 

Applying to WOZ

Applications to join Wizards of Oz are currently OPEN (HEALERS NEEDED), however if you feel our guild is definately somewhere you would like to call home, please submit an application via the "Apply to Guild" button located at the top left hand side of our website. Applications will be responded to within 24 - 48 hours.

Please note, as we are a mature guild, we are only accepting applications from mature players who are 18 years or older. You will need to have Ventrilo installed with a working headset & microphone as it is a requirement when raiding or running heroics and is our main communication tool for socialising.

Prior to your application being approved, you will be invited to attend an informal chat on Ventrilo about your application and to give you information on our guild and answer any questions you may have.
